CTH F and CTH DD

ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC OPEN TO LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY

Beginning July 6, 2026 Sawyer County Highway Department crews and contractors will begin roadway improvements on:

• CTH F from STH 48 to Little Sissabagama Road

• CTH DD from CTH F to the Washburn County Line

During construction these roadways will be closed to thru traffic and will remain open to local traffic only. Motorists should expect delays, construction equipment, loose gravel, flagging operations and changing traffic conditions throughout the project area.

And

Gov. Tony Evers has signed a $5.21 million contract with Monarch Paving Co. of Amery for a resurfacing project on Highway 27 in Sawyer County.

The project will resurface Highway 27 from West Boylan Road north of Sand Lake to 700 feet north of West Carol Drive in the Town of Hayward.

Construction is scheduled to begin July 13, with crews expected to begin mobilizing during the week of July 6.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says the pavement on this section of Highway 27 is showing signs of deterioration. The project will include:

• Milling off a portion of the existing roadway and placing new pavement

• Placing new base aggregate on shoulders

• Replacing or repairing and cleaning culverts

• Making spot repairs to curb and gutter

• Completing inlet maintenance

Highway 27 will be closed for about three weeks while crews replace culverts and traffic will be detoured using Highway 70, U.S. 53 and U.S. 63.

During the rest of the project, drivers can expect single-lane traffic controlled by flaggers. Construction is expected to be completed in early September.
